Walking Words

"Walking Words" is a collection of stories drawn from the folklore of the Americas. Galeano places "windows"--vignettes and assorted flotsam, often illustrating paradoxes--between the stories. The stories feature characters such as Calamity Jane, St. George, tango dancers, warlocks, shoemakers and poets. Galeano describes himself as a "Magical Marxist."
