"I first heard Tinariwen on the "Festival in the Desert" CD and it's been true love ever since. It's no wonder they've earned the attention of Robert Plant... the guitar work on "Oualahila Ar Tesninam" is not hard to imagine in a Led Zeppelin tune, nor is it a stretch to imagine Mr. Plant with his own English language version of " Aldhechen Manin". Along with fellow "desert blues" bands Etran Finatawa and Tartit, Tinariwen has opened our ears to the desert blues phenomena with Amassakoul. Guitars and sand DO mix."
